Default Decided to start a diary

Hey, after being on here for two months, I decided it's time to start a diary. I think it'll help me focus, since my mind tends to bounce around a bit

Since joining the forum, two pages that were ranking high in Google got hammered, so that income is pretty much gone. I have decided to ignore SEO-- it is just too frustrating. It makes me want to pull my hair out.

But I am happy to report I am now making a consistent $100 a day in profit since joining. I've rediscovered PPV (something I used 2-3 years ago) and because of this forum, I found out about the NoIP Fraud cloaker, and have used it to bank pretty well in a niche I wasn't able to use with PPV before (computer software products)

Within that niche, I have also started buying PPC on Bing for a new product, and doing very well on that. I just KNOW that this product would explode on Adwords, but I still can't find a way to get it approved there, even with the cloaker. Working with Chad and Will to try to explore ways to make this happen

My goal is to make a minimum of $100,000 a year and be able to quit my job. But I want multiple streams of income. I don't want to just rely on one source--- just to see that source dry up and then I have to start over again (this is what happened two years ago when Adwords banned me)

Ok, so with my background out of the way--- let me talk about what I did on Wednesday, May 9

-First, I made a new attempt to get an Adwords campaign through. It's not live yet, but the good news is that I do have someone there who seems to respond to my emails. Will keep you posted

-My other big project for the day was to create a lander and Bing PPC campaign for a weight loss product that I've been doing well with in PPV ($740 revenue with a $273 spend on Lead Impact/Traffic Vance) Got that done, and the campaign running. The result?

Revenue: $175
Spend: $231 (ouch)

Going to try direct linking to see if the conversions are any better

-I've been trying to get a Facebook campaign approved in this vertical for about a week. Finally got that done today too. The bad news? Zero clicks! And the ad was pretty targeted too. Going to have to do some tweaking on this one. I just get really frustrated with FB because it takes so freakin' long to get campaigns approved

Nice! Can't beat the years of PPC experience.

Experience. Yummy.

Ya, FB doesn't approve my ads on a daily basis. It's kinda crazy.

Awesome man, great to hear about the success... feel free to post a mini success story if you like. Yes, noIP rocks. You can do so well with it for sure. It really is cheating.

I dunno who it is, but someone who signed up from here for noIP went to the $2K per month package within like a month, which means they're driving millions of clicks or pops and doing real well.... wondering if thats you

Either way, congrats, looking forward to seeing your diary.

Good stuff.

I know the niche you're talking about and think it's possible with a tweak in your setup with noipfraud. I think the site that shows has to be a related, legit one.

That must be PPV.

Millions of PPV impressions means at least $15,000 ($0.015 per view at 1,000,000 impressions)!

Good job man, whoever you are. Dang.

Day 2

My new Bing PPC Campaign is not going well

Spent $89 on this day and had ZERO sales, so I dropped the bid price considerably

Switched to direct linking but that actually made my conversions go down even more

Going to have to optimize this campaign a lot better because there is definitely traffic in this vertical

Often direct linking will lower conversions, unless you have some VERY solid and relevant ads. When you do, it is a fast way to profit.

Weekend

Didn't start anything new this weekend. Right now, I am trying to figure out how to expand my PPV "empire." Right now, I am almost targeting URL's/product names exclusively. Looking at ways to expand to keywords and maybe target URL's with different offers than the URL I am targeting (rather than just targeting the exact same URL as the offer)

Decided to start running the weight loss product offer on Bing again, using an LP. I lowered my bid price down to .65 but I set my daily budget to $20,000 (there's no way I am going to spend that much money) I did spend $186 though, and got zero sales. Very frustrating, but one thing that's nice is that I am running the offer through an individual, and he's helping me optimize my LP

Sadly, my bread and butter niche has dropped quite a bit in the past few days as well

One area where I need to do some work is the way I view things. When I have a couple of lean days, I start to get really worried that the good days aren't going to come back. I need to have more faith in the process. I guess it's one of those things where I have wanted to be successful for so long, and when I start to feel it slipping away, I start to panic

You hit on a great point, lean days happen and how you deal with them matters.

I STILL run into this every week. I'll have day I do literally thousands in commissions, then have a day where I don't and I feel like shit. I've been doing this since 2004 and still hate the rollercoaster. BUT I know how to deal with it now.

My big thing is diversity. If I have a campaign going pretty well, I might do some small tweaks and maintenance on it, but I'll leave it be and start another campaign in another niche, maybe using another traffic source. Then I'll get that one to profits and repeat.

This way I leave a big trail of campaigns in my path. Some might produce a lead or conversion once a week! BUT when you've got a bunch of those running, those all add up to good days and even out the rollercoaster a bit.

Most of this business is in your head. If you feel like you're in a very bad mood, either work your way through it or take a break and go do something else. When I get mad, I tend to work a bit more as I'm weird that way. But then other days I don't want to touch a keyboard.

I guess you have to accept that the rollercoaster exists, then figure out your own little ways to deal with the ups and downs.
