Cool Tutorial: Pseudo Merchant In Depth and Tracking It

Hey guys,

After read this thread a lot of people were interested in hearing more in depth about the "Pseudo-Merchant" concept.

I've shot these 2 video tutorials to help you get a good idea of it. The first video is on the overall concept and setting it up. The second video is on tracking.

Finally, I also reference a very early case study of mine utilizing this method, and you can find that case study by clicking here.

Tracking These Sorts of Funnels:

Thanks very much, any questions post them below.

Question about Monitized thank you page

Hi,

are the offers in thank you page for monitization called co registration?

In my network most of the offers are not allowed for co-reg.I want to create a sales funnel and want to monitize my front end as you described in the video. But dont know if this is called co reg.

Thanks.

Good question... technically these aren't co-registration, they're being hosted on the thank you page. A true co-registration is when someone registers for your site they are also registered with another site, usually seamlessly.

How do you get the four optins to rotate?

I assume its a script, but how does it work exactly?

Same question for ThankYou page.

I was wondering too, but I think that for the opt in pages, you must use a software to split test (visual website optimizer for ex).

In the Thank You page, I don't think that the offers are rotated, they are all displayed together all the time if I'm right. The idea is to get people to click all of them, and hopefully give away their names/emails for conversions.

---------------------------

I also have a question: how to get the "qualification effect" running on a page once a visitor gives his name/email? I guess there is a script that delays the loading of the Thank You page?

Chad, I'm not familiar with CPV yet, nor CPV Lab. But after watching this tutorial about tracking, I went to the CPV Lab website and watch their video.
It seems to be perfect for anyone using pseudo merchant model, with email follow up tracking, or even what you showed when having multiple offers on the thank you page.

Would you recommend using CPV Lab for tracking to anyone willing to use the pseudo merchant model? (even if not familiar at all with CPV)

You can use Prosper, via the setup I mentioned in your private thread ...

This is how i do it with prosper pixels:

http://owely.com/2rLjbP

Take a look at that link.

Basically, I setup a prosper pixel at each offer, however, I select "multiple clicks can be tracked simultaneously"... then i select the offer im running, and I place one for each offer. So I do that process for each offer.

So for a pseudo merchant setup with 4 offers, you would have 5 pixels:

• pixel 1 would be on the thankyou page of the pseudo merchant lander (for campaign here you would select your pseudo merchant offer)

• pixels 2-5 would be placed on each offer at the CPA network.

But you have to use the "multiple clicks" thing. Then what will happen is when you look at prosper reporting, you'll see conversions of various values, and basically that is because one person might fill out 2 offers while another fills out 4.

Just set a value for your optin at like 1 cent, and then whatever the payout is for the other 4 offers.

Great! Yes this is what I needed to know thx! I realize my question was more clear to you when I mentionned your own example.

Also I repeat a question that has been missed: how to get the "qualification effect" (the clock or the hourglass) running on a page once a visitor gives his name/email?

oh, thats just a page in between the lander and the thank you page... its a 3rd page that has a simple meta redirect after 5 seconds or so. Old school.

I just use an animated gif. This site helps you create some:
