Default How to split test headlines?

Hi,

Well the title is pretty explicit, i'm wondering if there is a feature in aweber or any script that allows to rotate headlines when sending emails to the subscribers?

What is the best practice here? Anybody knows?

Thx!
Senso

I'm not sure you can with Aweber either, I'll have a look though...

not heard of any script rotating headlines because scripts need to be hosted some where. I normally send email to certain part of my list first to check the CTR. If you want to test headlines then i would suggest wrap up nice bonus content and test your subscribers with different headlines.

it's much safer then sending out too many Promo's to test headlines

You mean rotating subject lines? If so, you can do that in Aweber by creating a split test on your broadcast.

Thank you guys. And yes Chad, "subject lines", not headlines sorry.

Well I forgot to mention that I was talking about follow up emails, the ones you load in advance when people optin on your LP. I want to test that too, because I'm not sure my email follow up is very successful (open rate).

How do you know that the subject lines in your email sequence are optimized? by experience? by re using the ones that worked best with broadcasts?

Btw, silly question but in aweber, where to get the overall open rate?

thx

Thx

Overall open rate can be found under reports, but you need to look at it per followup.

And you know, Im not sure you can split test followup subject lines, thats something Ive never figured out how to do.

Ok ok, that's fine then. I guess with time and experience, my subject lines will become better anyway.

thx

this might require a few extra steps in aweber but i think this might be a way to split test headlines using segments.

You can create a segment for a list under the Subscriber Search page. Segments created allow you to send to a group on you list that meet the parameters of the segment.

See the aweber video here: http://www.aweber.com/faq/questions/...e+a+Segment%3F

There are 2 ways to do this but the second method, at about a 1:15 in the video, is where i think you might find something useful.

I know with getresponse you CAN actually split test.

You can send up to 5 different versions to a portion of your list, you choose the percentage of the list you want to test.

Once you have a winner send it to the rest of the list.

The way GR lays it out is simple, check out the video explaining it here: http://www.getresponse.com/learning-...plit-test.html

I dunno why aweber doesn't make it that simple.

hope this helps
